February First

I am so proud of the students' progress and effort to reflect and persevere with their learning.  They have completed their visual art projects, Begining to focus on French grammar, summarizing and the main idea after reading.  The application of specific subject vocabulary and grammar are very important.

The JEFF met with Dr. Hatzopoulou for feedback about their durable and innovative cities.

Both classes have reflected about their strategy of the arts to communicate a message about Global Goals. The students also reflected about the Character skills on feedback and perseverance to learn art skills.

We continue to practice using specific French expressions to improve the oral communication and the writing. The students continue to be encouraged to speak French to improve the application of the content.

The JEFF's and the System 2 Thinkers began their drama by choosing their roles and they combined all roles in a team to create scenes.

The System 2 Thinkers and the JEFF have been exploring images to build empathy and compassion as they analyze the social, political and economic effects from around the world.  the students began a journey of using Virtual Reality 360o videos to view and analyze through the empathy lens of people's displacements.

The students continue to persevere with critical thinking and communication skills. They have analyzed images from around the world by focusing on social, economic and political effects. Both teams have provided written and oral evidence of the analyzation. The 360o video of “The Displaced” children has build their empathy about obstacles that children encounter when leaving their countries.

Integrative thinking is applied through the causal model for students to share and connect their new learning on the Global Goals. They determine a statements with major factors by connecting causes and effects. During the process the students experience apply many skills, communication, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and character for persevering with the build up of ideas and connections of the model.  The students reflect about their learning and we have recorded most of the conversations emphasizing the application of French during the collaboration.

French skills continue to be applied on a daily basis as well reading, determining main ideas and writing a summary.

Some teams have begun their design to share the Global Goals with the school community also some teams began exploring how objects fly.

I am very proud of students’ progressions on the skills and ownership of learning. The students have developed their critical thinking and collaborative learning by leading their own thinking. The students were amazing at presenting their Entrepreneurial prototypes in at the Griffin’s Den on Friday. All judges were very impressed by their innovation and all teams have feedback to reflect on and improve before production.
